If you’re in need of a top quality watch that’s made using the finest materials and the best techniques then a Breitling watch is the way to go. Let’s review my selection of 3 top watches from their catalog.
The Breitling company has been in existence since 1884 offering some of the most precise and accurate timepieces, Swiss made of course. Originally the company started out designing chronometers fit for aviators, but after a while branched out to become a more versatile and widespread luxury watch manufacturer. Well, we can’t have only niche and haute-horlogerie watch brands!
With such a wide range of amazing watches available from this House, how do you know where to start in choosing the one that’s best for you?
To assist you in this dilemma, the following is a short review of 3 of the best watches in the Breitling range (in my opinion). Hopefully, this will help you narrow down your selection and make that final decision a little easier.
One of the most popular Breitling collections to date is that of the Avenger. Originally launched in 2001, there were many fantastic versions of this watch to follow. In 2016, the company launched a new version of the Avenger, called the Avenger II Seawolf Blacksteel and is one of the most powerful diving watches available today, featuring a black-coated stainless steel case with a contrasting bright yellow dial.
For all you technology lovers out there, be sure to check out the Breitling Superocean. In 2020, the brand launched a Superocean Heritage ‘57 Limited Edition watch which was basically an effort to re-invent the vintage watch by adding a modern twist to it. One of the most notable features about this watch is the rainbow of colour splashed across the indexes. A little different to that of the kind of boardroom-type watches you’d expect from Breitling, but very nice all the same.
Or, if you’re a lover of all things related to aviation, then perhaps it’s time to start flying with a new Breitling Navitimer instead. The Navitimer collection contains some of the company’s most prestigious models. First released back in 1952, these watches were the number one choice for anyone flying the skies. Since then, many great models have been added to this collection including that of the Cosmonaute. FYI that’s the very watch worn by Scott Carpenter during the Aurora 7 mission.
More Famous Breitling Owners
In addition to Mr Carpenter, there are many famous faces who are proud owners of a Breitling or two. John Travolta earned his pilot’s licence at 22yo and loves to sport his Breitling Navitimer while in the air.
Comedian Dave Chappelle is another famous celebrity who just can’t get enough of the luxury watch manufacturer. He too is quite often seen wearing a Breitling Navitimer during his performances on stage.
For the women, you’ve got Celine Dion who is a big fan of the Breitling Chronomat, while Racquel Welch has been spotted wearing both the Navitimer and CoPilot models.
