To the delight of fans, Spider-Man: Miles Morales was revealed earlier this summer. The follow-up to Insomniac Games’ hugely popular Spider-Man game for PS4 will place you in the shoes of Miles Morales, a teenager who takes on the mantle of Spider-Man following the death of Peter Parker in the comics. During today’s PS5 Showcase event, a gameplay demo was revealed that looks all kinds of amazing. If you were a fan of the first game, then Spider-Man: Miles Morales should definitely be on your radar.
Additionally, the Ultimate Edition of the PS5 version of Spider-Man: Miles Morales will also come with a voucher for a remastered version of the first Spider-Man game, which will also include all three installments of The City That Never Sleeps DLC. The PlayStation blog states that this remaster is no simple up-res, “as many of the game’s art assets have been completely updated to take advantage of the PS5 console’s horsepower. You’ll see better-looking characters with improved skin, eyes, hair, and facial animation (including our new, next-generation Peter Parker). You’ll also see ray-traced reflections and ambient shadows, improved lighting, more pedestrians and vehicles stretching further into the distance, and the same optional performance mode offered on Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales, allowing you to finally play the game at a targeted 60fps frame rate.” The remastered version will also include three new Spider-Man suits, new photo mode features, and new trophies.
Spider-Man: Miles Morales will be swinging to the PS4 and PS5 on November 12th, and speaking of PS5, the PlayStation showcase event finally revealed the price and release date of the new consoles, with the full console going for $499.99 and the Digital Edition going for $399.99. The consoles will roll out in US, Canada, Japan, Mexico, Australia, New Zealand, and South Korea on November 12th, before hitting the rest of the world on November 19th.
